Cries of desperation

The cages inside the vacant Wal-mart hold about 20 children each.

The children inside have been taken from their parents.

The authorities take sons from fathers.  Daughters are taken from their mothers.

Crying. Screaming. Desperation.

In some cases, parents are lied to before their children are taken.

Some children are ripped out of their parents arms. Families torn apart.

Young children, scared and alone. Most don’t understand the language of their captors. They only know that their mom or dad is gone.

Children left at the disposal of authorities.

The lights are never turned off.

Older children care for the younger ones in the cages.

This isn’t a story from Germany in 1938.
This is today, now, in America.

A report by The Associated Press said Friday that nearly 2,000 children were separated from their families at the U.S. border over a six-week period, according to Department of Homeland Security.

This isn’t “fixing” immigration.  This isn’t protecting the American Dream.  This is simply cruel and inhumane.

Our country, built by hard-working people looking for a better life is now taking children from their parents behind chain link fences.

Lady Liberty is weeping.

So am I.

I will fight every form of fascism put forward by this administration or Congress. Please help me get to Congress.  I will fight to ensure we put human beings first, and keep families together.
